BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9. Pomegranate Producers and Exports Association of Azerbaijan (PPEAA) is interested in exporting products to Qatar, Chairman of PPEAA Farhad Garashov told Trend.
According to him, at the initiative of Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry, products under the ‘Made in Azerbaijan’ brand are presented at many large exhibitions in connection with the expansion of the geography of exports.
"This activity continues through the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) and the markets are mainly Russia, the UAE, also the EU countries,” Garashov said.
“We increased the total production by exporting more products to the Russian market in 2021, as Turkish pomegranates did not enter the Russian market this year," Garashev noted.
He added that PPEAA exported almost 22,000 tons of products worth about $30 million in 2021.
"A total of 1,500 tons of pomegranates worth more than $2 million were exported in the first four months of the year," Garashov said.
