Türkiye discloses freight traffic volume from China via local ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 23. Turkish ports handled 10.7 million tons of cargo from China from January through November 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports via TurkicWorld.

According to the ministry, ships flying the Turkish flag delivered 42,314 tons of cargo, while ships under the flags of other countries – 10.458 million tons to local ports.

During this period, 225,743 tons of cargo were transshipped by China-flagged ships to Turkish ports. A total of 2.35 million tons of transit freight was transported from China to Turkish ports.

The domestic ports handled 31.16 million tons of freight in November 2022.

In the reporting period, ships flying the flag of Türkiye transshipped 2.05 million tons, whereas ships under the flags of other countries equaled 29.1 million tons.

In November 2022, the ports of Türkiye delivered 6.75 million tons of transit cargo.

A total of 361.98 million tons of freight were transferred by Turkish ports in the first eleven months of 2022.

During this period, cargo traffic by ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 25.79 million tons, whilst by ships under the flags of other countries – 336.18 million tons.

From January through November 2022, Turkish ports transshipped 73.75 million tons of transit cargo.
