BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 23. Turkish Iskenderun port transshipped 54.19 million tons of cargo from January through November 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.
According to the ministry, ships flying the Turkish flag handled 1.16 million tons, while ships under the flags of other countries – 53 million tons of cargo via the port of Iskenderun.
In the first 11 months of this year, 1.12 million tons of cargo were handled via the mentioned port, the ministry said.
Totally, Turkish ports handled 6.75 million tons of transit cargo in November 2022.
In the first 11 months of this year, ports of Türkiye handled 361.98 million tons of cargo. Ships under the Turkish flag transferred 25.79 million tons of cargo, whereas ships under the flags of other countries – 336.18 million tons.
Moreover, during this period, Turkish ports transshipped 73.75 million tons of transit cargo.
