Türkiye discloses freight transport volume from Egypt via local ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 3. Turkish ports handled 20.817 million tons of cargo from Egypt from January through December 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports via TurkicWorld.

According to the ministry, ships flying the Turkish flag delivered 2.76 million tons of cargo, while ships under the flags of other countries – 18.01 million tons to local ports.

During this period, 41,245 tons of cargo were transshipped by Egypt-flagged ships to Turkish ports. A total of 1.708 million tons of transit freight was transported from Egypt to Turkish ports.

The domestic ports handled 32.03 million tons of freight in December 2022.

In the reporting period, ships flying the flag of Türkiye transshipped 2.5 million tons, whereas ships under the flags of other countries equaled 29.498 million tons.

In December 2022, the ports of Türkiye delivered 7.26 million tons of transit cargo.

A total of 394.09 million tons of freight were transferred by Turkish ports in 2022.

During this period, cargo traffic by ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 28.4 million tons, whilst by ships under the flags of other countries – 365.646 million tons.

From January through November 2022, Turkish ports transshipped 81.018 million tons of transit cargo.
