BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 13. Azerbaijan's GDP totaled 9.69 billion manat ($5.69 billion) in January 2023, decreasing by 1.5 percent compared to January 2022, Trend reports citing the country's State Statistical Committee.

Meanwhile, the value added in the non-oil sector grew by 1.7 percent, while the added value cost in the oil and gas sector decreased by 4.6 percent year on year.

In the reporting period, GDP per capita settled at 956.6 manat ($561.96), whereas industry accounted for 52.8 percent of GDP in Azerbaijan.

According to the agency, 9.5 percent of GDP fell on trade and repair of vehicles, 5.3 percent – on transport and storage, 2.6 percent – on agriculture, forestry, and fish farming, 3.2 percent – on construction, 1.4 percent – on the tourism sector, as well as 1.6 percent – on information and communication. A total of 15.5 percent accounted for other economic sectors.

Net import tax revenues during this period made up 8.1 percent of GDP.
