BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. Baku hosted the 52nd meeting of the permanent joint commission of Azerbaijan and Iran on the use of water and energy resources of the Araz River, Trend reports.
The meeting, held by the Azerbaijani side under the chairmanship of the co-Chairman of the Azerbaijani-Iranian joint commission and Deputy Chairman of Melioration and Water Management JSC of Azerbaijan Zakir Guliyev, was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources JSC of Azerbaijan and relevant organizations of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
A number of issues were discussed regarding the operating mode of the Araz Reservoir and the distribution of water between the two countries, appropriate distribution tables were developed and a protocol on the joint use of water and energy resources on the Araz River was signed.
