BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. Tax and customs benefits for the production of equipment for de-mining and armored clothing have been proposed to be introduced in Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
This issue has been reflected in the amendment to the Tax Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, submitted for discussion at today's extraordinary meeting of the Azerbaijani Parliament.
As part of the clearance of liberated territories, as well as other territories affected by war and hostilities, from mines and unexploded ordnance, explosive devices and other explosive residues, the import of all types of machinery, equipment, technical means and devices, their spare parts, individual armor protection clothes, tools, equipment for the creation and (or) production of explosives and pyrotechnics, their components and raw materials, as well as sapper dogs, has been proposed to be exempted from tax from March 1, 2023 for a period of five years.
After discussion, the amendment was put to the vote and adopted in the third reading.
Following the liberation of its lands in the Second Karabakh War, Azerbaijan from Nov. 2020 started carrying out operations on clearing its lands of mines, booby traps, and various weapons left behind by the Armenian troops.
