Volume of cargo transported from Malta to Turkish ports disclosed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 25. The volume of cargo transported from Malta to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 2.2 million tons from January through June 2023, Trend reports.

According to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, 33,119 tons of cargo were transported from Turkish ports to Malta by ships under the flag of Türkiye, while by ships under the flags of other countries - 1.3 million tons.

The ships under the flag of Malta delivered 683,665 tons of cargo to the ports of Türkiye during this period. In general, from Malta to the Turkish ports 345,727 tons of transit cargo were transported in the first half of this year.

The ports of Türkiye received 33.7 million tons of cargo in June 2023. Cargo traffic to domestic ports on ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 2.9 million tons during this period.

"Cargo transportation of ships under the flags of other countries to Turkish ports amounted to 30.8 million," the ministry said.

In addition, 5.9 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye in June 2023.

According to the ministry, Turkish ports received 194.5 million tons of cargo from January through June 2023.

Cargo acceptance by ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 14.3 million tons from January through June 2023. And by ships under the flags of other countries, cargo transportation to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 180.1 million tons.

In general, a total of 34.9 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye from January through June 2023.

The ports of Türkiye received 394.9 million tons of cargo in 2022. Cargo acceptance by ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 28.4 million tons, while cargo transportation by ships under the flags of other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 365.6 million during this period.
