BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 11. Azerbaijan for the first time imported meat products from Russia's Ulyanovsk region, Trend reports.
The import reached 208 tons of meat.
According to the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), all exported products met the requirements of the recipient country. Their quality and safety were confirmed by laboratory test protocols of accredited laboratories.
Azerbaijani food imports increased in value terms by 0.14 percent ($1.4 million) and amounted to $1.05 billion from January through June 2023.
Azerbaijan imported 21,390 tons of meat worth $40.4 million, 6,080 tons of milk - $12.9 million, 8,500 tons of dairy products - $47 million, 188,590 tons of vegetables and fruits - $122.4 million, 6,150 tons of tea - more than $32.7 million, during the reporting period of 2023.
