BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 12. Azerbaijan's GDP grew by 0.8 percent from January through August 2023 year-on-year (up to 90.8 billion manat or $53.4 billion), Trend reports.
The data of the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan shows that value added in the non-oil sector grew by 3 percent from January through August 2023, while in the oil and gas sector it decreased by 1.5 percent year-on-year.
The share of industry in the GDP structure amounted to 41.6 percent from January through August 2023.
The data of the State Statistics Committee shows that 9.5 percent of the GDP structure came from trade and vehicle repair, 6 percent from transport and warehousing, 5 percent from construction, 6.4 percent from agriculture, forestry and fish farming, 2.3 percent from the tourism sector and 1.7 percent from information and communication. Other sectors of the economy accounted for 18 percent of GDP.
Net import tax revenues amounted to 9.5 percent of GDP during this period.
GDP per capita in Azerbaijan amounted to 8,948 manat ($5,263) from January through September 2023.
Azerbaijan's GDP grew by 4.6 percent in 2022 year-on-year - up to 133.8 billion manat ($78.7 billion).
