IMF forecasts Azerbaijan's nominal GDP until 2028

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 12. Azerbaijan's nominal GDP is expected to reach 135.5 billion manat ($79.7 billion) in 2024, Trend reports via the report of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According to IMF forecasts, assets will amount to 140.7 billion manat ($82.7 billion) in 2025, - 146.47 billion manat ($86 billion), in 2026 - 152.56 billion manat ($89.7 billion) in 2027, and 159.4 billion manat ($93.7 billion) in 2028.

Meanwhile, the IMF report was created following consultations in Baku in November 2023 in line with Article IV of the agreement on "Establishment of the IMF," led by Anna Bordon, head of the foundation's mission for Azerbaijan.

To clarify, the country's GDP in 2023 was 123 billion manat ($72.35 billion), with real economic growth anticipated at 1.1 percent.

Industry accounted for 40.5 percent of GDP, trade and vehicle repair for ten percent, transportation and warehousing for 6.2 percent, agriculture, forestry, and fishery for 5.5 percent, construction for 6.2 percent, tourist accommodation and catering facilities for 2.2 percent, information and communication for 1.7 percent, and other sectors for 18.6 percent.

The percentage of taxes in GDP was 9.1 percent.

GDP per capita in 2023 was 12,114 manat, or $7,126.
