BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3. Analysts from the Netherlands-based ING forecast the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) to downgrade the refinancing rate to seven percent in the second quarter of 2024, Trend reports.
According to ING, the refinancing rate will fall another 50 basis points to 6.5 percent in the third quarter of 2025 and will remain until the end of 2025, and for 2026, the company forecasts a refinancing rate of 7.5 percent.
To note, the CBA lowered the refinancing rate from 7.5 percent to 7.25 percent at its latest meeting on May 1. The upper limit of the interest rate corridor was reduced from 8.5 to 8.25 percent, while the lower limit was kept unchanged at 6.25 percent.
The next decision of the CBA on the parameters of the interest rate corridor will be made public on June 21.
In general, the CBA's decisions on the parameters of the interest rate corridor will be made public on July 31, September 18, October 30, and December 18.
