BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 8. In 2023, Georgia's international reserves grew by $36.9 million, while in 2022, they increased by $628.1 million, Trend reports.
According to the latest statistics, between January and September 2024, the international reserves of the National Bank of Georgia dropped by 297.2 million lari ($108.2 million).
As of September 30, 2024, preliminary data shows the reserves stood at $4.7 billion. In September alone, reserves fell by $126.1 million. Analysts suggest this change in reserves is due to the National Bank of Georgia's and the government's activities in the foreign exchange market.
The National Bank's reserves hit a record high on August 31, 2023, reaching $5.44 billion.
