Reconstruction of passenger terminal at Georgian Kutaisi airport completed

The main work on the facade cladding and the arrangement of the internal partitions of the new passenger terminal at the Georgian international airport in Kutaisi has been completed, Trend reports citing Georgian media outlets.

As reported, reconstruction of the roof has also been completed. At the moment, roofing and construction of the open porch are underway.

According to the Georgian Airports Association, the third phase of construction work is underway in parallel, which involves engineering. The terminal will be equipped with a special heating and cooling system.

The design of the outdoor landscape will begin shortly.

As reported, as a result of the reconstruction, the airport's throughput will be increased by 4 times, and it will be able to serve 1,200 passengers per hour without interruption.

Currently, Kutaisi International Airport can serve 300 passengers per hour. Upon completion of the construction of the new passenger terminal, the airport will have 7 exits (the so-called gate).

The design of the renewed terminal of Kutaisi International Airport is handled by the Dutch architectural company UN Studio.

Kutaisi International Airport increased passenger traffic by 41 percent year-on-year. According to data for 11 months, the airport served 791,399 passengers.
