Azerbaijani State Housing Development Agency talks construction of new residential complexes in Baku

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 4

Azerbaijani State Housing Development Agency continues to implement the second project of social significance in Yasamal district of Baku, Spokesperson for the State Housing Development Agency Maryam Nabiyeva told Trend.

“The matter rests in the construction of the second residential complex in Yasamal district of Baku, located on the territory covering 15.4 hectares,” Nabiyeva added.

"The project is planned to be implemented within the next two years or two years and a half,” the spokesperson said. “The residential complex will include 40 buildings with 2,202 apartments.”

“After the completion of the second project of the residential complex in Yasamal district of Baku, a settlement that will combine the first and second residential complexes in Yasamal district is planned to be created,” the spokesperson said. “Kindergartens, schools, a shopping center and other social facilities are planned to be built in the town in the future."

Nabiyeva added that similar residential complexes are being built in Baku and other Azerbaijani cities.

The Strategic Roadmap on Advancing Provision with Affordable Housing in Azerbaijan was approved to achieve sustainable development in the field of affordable housing upon the presidential decree dated December 6, 2016.

The document envisages the strategy for the development of the country's construction sector and key priorities for the agency.

In accordance with the roadmap, the Agency determines suitable land plots for its projects, increases the number of beneficiaries of an affordable housing fund, cooperates with the private sector, ensures the efficiency of the mortgage market, thereby creating all conditions for the development of affordable housing.

The main goals set by the roadmap include ensuring sustainable financing of affordable housing, creating a transparent electronic system that will allow real-time registration of citizens, the effective sale of apartments and public-private partnership in housing projects at an affordable price.
