Uzbekistan expects to resume commissioning works on ammonia and carbamide plant ofNavoiazot JSC, a subsidiary of Uzkimyosanot, in the nearest future, Trend reports citing Dunyo News Agency.
Representatives of Uzkimyosanot discussed this issue during a video conference with management of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engineering, Ltd on August 20, 2020.
During the negotiations, officials of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan who also participated in the videoconference stated that the situation with coronavirus infection in the country has normalized, which allows continuing work on the project.
The sides reached an agreement to arrange the visit of foreign specialists to construction sites, said the report.
Navoiazot is implementing projects to build ammonia production facility with a capacity of 660,000 tons and carbamide production facility with a capacity of 577,500 tons. The total cost of the project is $985 million.
Corresponding agreements were concluded with a consortium of Japanese companies Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. and Mitsubishi Corporation on implementation of the project on a turnkey basis.
Navoiazot is the largest chemical enterprise in Uzbekistan, which was put into operation in 1964. The plant specializes in production of nitrogen fertilizers, nitron fiber, as well as integrated products of organic synthesis
