BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept.23

By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

A pharmaceutical plant will be opened in Tbilisi Free Industrial Zone (FIZ), Trend reports via Georgian media.

According to Giorgi Tabidze, Director of the Tbilisi FIZ, the construction of the plant is completed and the equipment installation has begun.

“FIZ has already signed new agreements on cooperation with various companies, including Ukrainian and Azerbaijani drug makers. It is planned to sign contracts with Turkish and Italian companies,” he says.

In Tabidze’s words, investors show great interest in the free zone and the construction of a large pharmaceutical plant proves that.

The Free Industrial Zone of Tbilisi was established in December of 2015 in one of the outskirts of Tbilisi. A territory in the region Gldani in the industrial zone with an area 17 ha was allocated for FIZ for the period of 49 years.

The zone is managed by Georgia Technology Park, which is set to invest $30 million in the FIZ development.
