Uzbekistan’s export of construction materials triples

Uzbekistan’s export of construction materials in 2020 increased by three times, Trend reports referring to the press service of the Association of building materials industry enterprises of Uzbekistan.

According to the information, during the reported period, Uzbekistan exported construction materials worth $257.4 million, while during the same period last year this figure amounted to $85.3 million.

It is reported that most of all Uzbek building materials were purchased in Kazakhstan ($41 million), Kyrgyzstan ($30.9 million), and Tajikistan ($29 million).

At the same time, supplies to Afghanistan amounted to $11.1 million. It was noted that Uzbek construction products are also exported to Russia, Turkmenistan, Lithuania, China, Ukraine, and Turkey.

According to the State Statistics Committee, as of March 1, 2021, 41,929 construction companies operate in the country, increasing by 4,712 companies compared to the same period last year.

In addition, 1,251 news construction enterprises were created from January through February 2021.

State Statistics Committee reports that Tashkent has the largest number of construction companies – 8,191 companies. Significantly fewer construction enterprises are operating in the Tashkent region – 3,641, Kashkadarya region – 3,383, Fergana region – 3,303, Andijan region – 3,163, and Samarkand region – 3,150.
