TEHRAN, Iran, April 6. The Iranian government has provided 70 percent of the area needed for the National Housing Movement project construction, said the Minister of Road and Urban Development Rostam Ghasemi, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"Government already provide lands needed for construction of 2.4 million affordable housing units and the construction of 880,000 housing units has started," he said.
According to the minister, the construction of 2 million housing units will start in the first six months of the current Iranian year (starting March 21, 2022).
Most of the area provided for the National Housing Movement project is owned by the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development and other ministries and organizations are expected to cooperate in providing more areas for construction.
Iran's landmark housing plan aims to build four million residential units in the next four years for the low-income class and maintain the surging prices in the housing market.
