Juice Manufactures Union of Azerbaijan to Approve Its Action Plan
Azerbaijan, Baku, 19 March / corr. Trend I. Khalilova/ On 19 March, the Union of Juice Manufacturers of Azerbaijan will hold a meeting to approve a plan of action, Emil Majidov, the president of the Export and Investments Promoting Fund of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO) said.
Situation in the market has improved in favor of the national manufacturers, thanks to the price rise in their products. The restrictions on the imported products have boosted the sale of juice produced by the Azerbaijani manufacturers.
The positive change in the market is attributed to the rise in profitability of the domestic manufacturers; however quality of the products can decrease in case of absence of competition in the market. It necessitates the protection of juice manufacturers from the temporary changes in the market.
At present, there are a total of 13 medium and big juice manufacturers and 40 hand-made producers of juice in Azerbaijan.
The domestic manufacturers face problems especially in management, marketing and in quality control, while there are no problems in technology sphere. Azerbaijani manufacturers bought the production line 7 to 8 years ago. It means that most of Azerbaijani production lines outperform that of the Turkish and German from the technological point of view, since the manufacturers of these countries had bought their production lines 20 years ago.
The Union of Juice Producers of Azerbaijan has been set up to address the problems which includes 9 leading companies (Milk-PRO, Gilan, SAF, Granet Haji, Gamalhan, Miri-Pak, Navai and others). The Union will deal with the introduction of new technologies, marketing and positioning of Azerbaijani juice in the foreign markets.
