Azerbaijan Ratifies Cooperation Agreement with Moldova on Tax Violations

Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 July / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / On 4 July the Azerbaijani Parliament ratified intergovernmental agreement on cooperation and exchange of information in fighting against tax violations, signed between Azerbaijan and Moldova in Baku on 23 April 2008.

The Azerbaijani Taxes Ministry and the Economic Crimes and Corruption Centre are responsible for realization this agreement.

Main directions of cooperation includes exchange of information, interaction in taking measures, directed at exposure and removal of tax violations, presentation of copies of adopted documents in an effort to attract legal persons and individuals to taxation, exchange of methodic instructions on organization of struggle with tax violations, and exchange of information to inject changes into the national tax system and tax legislation. Moreover, this document envisages coordination of actions in the process of cooperation, including organization of working groups, training of the staff, holding workshops and scientific and practical conferences on the problems to struggling with tax violations.

The agreement was signed for five-year efficiency term. The term can be extended automatically for five years if both countries agree on this matter. The side willing to cancel the agreement is eligible to send a notification six months in advance to the expiration of its term in order to cancel this agreement.
