Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb.9 / Trend corr N. Ismayilova / Within the project of pension reforms and social provision, the automated system, launched by the State Social Protection Fund of Azerbaijan (SSPFA) to control separate accounts and release social and insurance cards, covers 70 percent of the country, according to the World Bank.

The rest of the Azerbaijani regions will be included in the system after completing the construction work within the project.

Nearly 95 percent of economy's real sector workers have already obtained social insurance cards.

According to the source, the project is successfully realized to reach its aims.

The WB representatives think that the SSPFA and Labor and Social Protection Ministry have improved the effectiveness, transparence and conditions of pensions and social aid for pensioners.

The targeted social aid aims to meet the needs of the poorest families. The implementation of the project is supported by the automated data system covering the whole country. The WB considers that the majority of citizens yield benefits by using smartcards.

The cost of the project makes up $11 million among $5.39 million of which remain unused. The project to be completed by late February 2009 was approved by the WB Board of Directors in 2004. It aims to improve effectiveness and transparence of pension provision and offer social aid to citizens.
