The aircraft of Boeing-777 brand which belongs to the Indian Jet Airlines company and carried out Delhi-London flight made an emergency landing in Baku on May 2, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) Press Secretary Maharram Safarli said on May 4.
"The plane made a forced emergency landing at 17:21 Baku time on May 2. Alarm of the plane showed the presence of inflammable situation in the cargo compartment of the aircraft," Safarli said.
There were 282 passengers and 15 crew members on the board of the plane.
An alarm was announced at the international Heydar Aliyev Airport due to the emergency landing. After the plane landed at the airport, the passengers and crew members were evacuated, the cargo compartment was fully devastated, but the threat of fire have not been identified.
"Then, the passengers also passed safety inspection, the goods have been loaded back to the plane, which left the airport at 00:32, and continued to fly to London," Safarli said.
