Agreement to be signed as result of first meeting of port heads

The agreement will be signed as a result of the first meeting with participation of Caspian countries' port departments. The meeting was held in Iranian city Enzeli on May 5, Iranian steam navigation head Ali Tahiri Mutleg said on May 5, İRİB official news website of Iranian television reported.

Caspian countries will discuss cooperation in freight transportation, simplification of loading and unloading system, reduction of expenses for port operations, increase of freight transportation in region to use transportation corridor more intensively, transmission of port infrastructure construction in Caspian counties to private companies, as well as scientific cooperation in steam navigation, Mutleg said. 

"The agreement will be signed to prevent power surge by vehicles during the meeting. Heads of Caspian countries' ports will also discuss situation concerning check-up of vehicles and fire prevention during the meeting." 

Russia and Iran will conclude bilateral agreement to prevent water pollution by vehicles and conduct search-rescue actions, Mutleg said.
