Azerbaijan and Korea establish committee for agricultural cooperation

The Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Korea signed a memorandum of understanding on Oct. 8.

The Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Korea signed a memorandum of understanding on Oct. 8.

From the Azerbaijani side, the memorandum was signed by Agriculture Minister Ismet Abbasov and from the Korean side - the General Director of the Department of International Relations of the Ministry, Kim Jong Jin.

According to the memorandum, the sides agreed to continue the exchange of experiences in rural community development, exchange of information on international and domestic politics of agriculture, in processing, distribution and marketing of agricultural products, facilitating cooperation and exchange between the private sector of both countries to support trade and investment in agriculture, exchange of experts in the spheres reflecting mutual interest, and the distribution of data in the field of agricultural and food technology.

In order to coordinate and promote bilateral cooperation, a decision was made to establish Azerbaijani-Korean Committee. Committee meetings will be held every two years. Working groups can be established within the Committee to strengthen cooperation.

The memorandum is envisaged for five years.
