The 16th annual conference of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 21 to 24 October. The next conference will be held in Dubai in 2010. Azerbaijan became the member of this Association in 2006.
The State Insurance Supervision Service of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Finance informs that being a full member of the above-listed Association since 2006 Azerbaijan was represented there by Zaka Mirzayev, the head of the Department of Financial & Insurance Market Regulation.
A general meeting of the IAIS member organizations was conducted following the conference.
The meeting participants covered and made concrete decisions.
"In particular it was decided to accept new members and regular conferences in Dubai in 2010 and in the US in 2012," it was informed.
The conference involved 505 representatives of the IAIS member organizations from more than 100 countries.
