The number of large taxpayers operating in the non-oil sector of Azerbaijan increased by 9.9 percent as of January 1, 2010 and hit 664 taxpayers, the Tax Service Department head Zaur Fati-zadeh said in an interview published in Vergiler newspaper.
He said that about 692 taxpayers have been registered in the department today, of which 421 - VAT payments.
"In 2009, about 76.8 percent, or 3.159 billion manat of total tax revenues worth 4.114 billion manat, was provided through the department, " Fatizadeh said.
Income from non-oil sector through the department in 2009 increased by 2,8 percent compared to the year before the last one.
