The Dubai-based airline Emirates has purchased 32 more Airbus A380 super-jumbo aircraft, worth some 11 billion dollars, Emirates Chief Executive Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said at the Berlin Airshow on Tuesday, DPA reported.

Emirates, one of the Middle East's leading airlines, was already the largest customer for the 525-seat double-decker plane, with 58 orders so far. Emirates has received 10 A380s, one of which was on display Tuesday at the airshow.

The order is a major boost for pan-European consortium Airbus, which had reckoned on selling 20 of the aircraft.
