Azerbaijani, Georgian and Turkish ministers to discuss Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project in Baku

The second meeting of the Advisory Council within the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project will be held in Baku Aug.3, the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry's report says.

The meeting will be attended by the Azerbaijani Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov, and the Georgian delegation headed by the minister for regional development and infrastructure Ramaz Nikolashvili and the Turkish delegation, headed by Transport Minister Binali Yildirim. The meeting will discuss the design and construction works on the section of the Kars-Akhalkalaki, works in the sphere of transfer of wagons to the European gauge on the territory of Turkey and other issues.

Aug. 2, Baku will host the 9th meeting of the Coordinating Council within this project. The session will discuss some aspects of the implementation of this project, approval of the project of reconstruction of the railway on the territory of Georgia, approval of the project of construction of the Kartsakhi station, the course of the project on construction of the Akhalkalaki station, amendments to the budget of the railway Marabda-Kartsakhi and other issues.
