CJSC Azerbaijani Railways got income worth 82.3 million from providing services and transportation of freight and passengers in January-June, the head of CJSC, Arif Asgarov said in an interview with Republic newspaper.

He said 70.9 million manat of total amount received in the first half-year fell to freight transportation, remaining 111.4 million manat to passenger transportation.

As a result of January-June, the CJSC's costs amounted to 75.8 million manat, and incomes 6.5 million manat.

Some 28.2 million manat of the total amount of spent funds were directed to wages payment, 6.6 million manat to the Social Protection Fund, 9.1 million manat to the public budget as various taxes, 16.6 million manat was paid for used electricity,  and 15.3 million manat has been spent  for various materials.

In January-June the CJSC transported 10,7 million tons of freights, which is 6.1 percent (618,000) more compared to the same period of 2009. Some six million tons of the total amount of transported freights fell to oil-related freights. Also during the reported period the CJSC transported over 2.64 million passengers.

During this period, major repairs on six kilometers of railways were conducted and 7.7 kilometers of railways have undergone medium repair. Also, at the expense of internal funds f three electric locomotives and seven diesel locomotives were repaired. Some 1,559 freight wagons were repaired in the depot, and 379 wagons have undergone major repairs. In addition, wagons for industrial enterprises were repaired. In particular, 106 wagons have undergone major repairs, and 698 wagons were repaired in the depot. Some 677 of these are tanks, while remaining part - another type of wagons.

In January-June, 72 containers were undergone planned current repairs, and 99 containers were undergone major repairs.
