The Iranian Advanced Technology Exhibition opened on Monday at the Fairgrounds in Damascus, with the participation of 147 companies and 313 Iranian experts, SANA reported.
Iranian specialists in nanotechnology, airplane manufacturing, advanced geometrical and medical industries, oil, gas, IT, communications, renewed and alternative energy technology and environmental technology are also taking part in the exhibition.
Advisor to the Iranian President Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei said in a speech that the exhibition is an opportunity to open new prospects for cooperation between Syria and Iran, adding that the Iranian noticeable presence at the exhibition is part of the extraordinary cooperation between the two countries in all fields.
Director-General of the General Establishment for International Expos and Markets Mohammad Hammoud said the exhibition will considerably pave the way for a new phase of technical, scientific and technological cooperation between Syria and Iran and make big leaps in that field, voicing desire to export Iranian technology to Syria.
Head of the Iranian Technology and Innovation Cooperation Centre Amiriniya said the exhibition sums up the Iranian expertise in various specializations and fields, hoping the two sides would make the utmost benefit of it.
In a statement to SANA, Minister of Higher Education Ghiath Barakat said the exhibition opens promising cooperation prospects as it showcases results of nanotechnology researches and other scientific fields.
On the sidelines of the opening ceremony, the two sides signed five cooperation and coordination agreements between the Syrian Arab Airlines and Iran's Civil Aviation Organization in training, technical support, air freight and setting up technical hangars.
The exhibition, which lasts until February 10, includes lectures and scientific discussions in nanotechnology, marketing, medicine, oil, gas, the investment atmosphere in Syria and many other fields.
