Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov delivered a severe reprimand against Building Materials Industry Minister Yazmyrat Hommadov "for poor performance, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported on Friday.
The official was told that he will be dismissed if he fails to improve in the near future, the newspaper said.
Berdymukhamedov has stressed the importance of modernizing building industry, power engineering, and machine building for the country's future successful development and instructed the heads of branches to pay attention to building important facilities through the provision of high quality works.
More than 2,000 objects with a combined value of almost $48 billion are under construction in Turkmenistan.
The share of investments in the GDP was 35.1 percent.
