Azerbaijan, Baku, June 2 / Trend N. Ismayilova /

At present, the International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) installed 111 POS-terminals at checkpoints and police patrol cars in Baku, AzeriCard processing center business development head Jahangir Mammadov said. AzeriCard is in 100-percent ownership of the International Bank of Azerbaijan.

In early March, the IBA and the Head Office of the State Traffic Police under the Interior Ministry decided to install wireless POS-terminals at the checkpoints and in patrol cars.

"At present, about 111 terminals have been installed," he said. "The drivers, breaking the rules, may pay the fines on the spot."

He said that at present, all the terminals have been installed in patrol cars and checkpoints in Baku. But they are planned to be installed in Nakhchivan. The fines are accepted only on five articles of the Code of Administrative Offences. The sum does not exceed 20 manat.

The drivers can pay a fine and receive a receipt on the spot. POS-terminal gives two copies of receipts, one of which will be given to the violator and the original receipt will be attached to the administrative protocol.
