The Azerbaijani Ministry of Labour and Social Protection renders services to 1 million 300,000 persons annually, of whom 525,000 get targeted social aid, Minister Fizuli Alekperov told media.
"Moreover, each year 240,000 people use the services of medical social expertise," Alekperov said.
The number of families receiving the targeted social aid was 125,472, a meeting of ministerial board as of the first six months said.
The average amount of the targeted social aid totaled 103.95 manat in the first half of the year.
The level of need criterion, used to calculate the amount of the aid reached 75 manat from 2011, or 2.5 times more compared to 2006.
Azerbaijan has passed to the system of the targeted social aid since 2006. Its amount is defined proceeding from the difference between the need criterion and the income per family member.
The official exchange rate is 0.7865 manat to $1.
