Kazakh international trade seaport to simplify customs procedures

Kazakhstan will set up a new Customer Service Centre at the Kazakh international trade seaport of Aktau late this November to simplify customs procedures, a source in Aktau port told Trend by phone on Wednesday.

"The Customer Service Centre will unite all departments of the Border control services in one building," the source said. "The center will enable both companies and individuals to pass all registration procedures in one place."

Aktau port is located on the east coast of the Caspian Sea and is Kazakhstan's only port for international transportation of various dry cargo, crude oil and petroleum products.
The Aktau port renders to domestic and foreign customers a wide range of quality services in the field of sea port, service-related goods, vessels and passengers. The port with its 12 berths transships general and liquid cargoes such as petroleum and petroleum products, metals, grain and other goods and cargo ferry.
The design capacity of the port is 11.5 million tons per year.
The Aktau Port has shipped over 9 million tons of cargo in January to September, 2011.

The port was established as a transport hub of several modes of transport such as rail, road, water and pipeline. The Aktau port is a part of three international transport corridors - TRACECA, North-South and INOGATE.
