In January-September, about 44,400 cars were imported to Azerbaijan. It is 17 percent more than the same period of last year, the State Statistics Committee told Trend on Friday.
According to the report, the total value of imported cars exceeded $448 million in Jan.-Sept., or 37.8 percent more than in January-September 2010.
Some 4,008 trucks were imported to Azerbaijan in Jan.-Sept., or 20.9 percent more than in January-September last year. The total value of imported cars totaled $84.33 million or 5 percent less than last year.
The country imported 429 buses in Jan.-Sept., or 35.4 percent less than in Jan.-Sept. last year. Buses worth about $16.9 million were imported in January-September, or 49.9 percent less than the same period of last year.
About 632 trucks were produced in Azerbaijan in Jan.-Oct., or 17.7 percent more than in Jan.-Oct. 2010. During this period, 352 cars were produced, or 17.9 percent less than the same period of last year.
