The mobile operator of Uzbekistan Unitel Ltd, a subsidiary of the Russian VimpelCom Ltd. will launch fourth generation mobile network on the LTE technology before the end of 2011, Dmitry Kromsky, Vice-President of VimpelCom Ltd. told journalists on Monday.
"We received the license for the fourth-generation network in Uzbekistan, and its first section will be launched before the end of the year," Kromsky said
According to Kromsky, Uzbekistan is the only CIS country, where the company has the 4G operating license. Only Italy received the same license within the framework of VimpelCom.
