Pakistani government urges the Azerbaijani investors to invest in the country's economy, Governor of the Pakistani Sindh Province Ishrat ul Ibad said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan Dashgyn Shikarov, the diplomatic mission told Trend on Saturday.
He said Sindh Province is currently experiencing an energy crisis, and the Azerbaijani investors are invited to invest in this sector, construction of small power plants operating with gas and alternative energy.
Sindh Governor also thanked the Azerbaijani leadership for the assistance in the amount of $2 million provided to floods victims in the province in 2011.
Sindh Province is interested in developing economic relations with Azerbaijan, this province's Prime Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said at a meeting with Shikarov.
He said the province's government is preparing a package of concrete proposals for cooperation, which will be submitted by the delegation of the Sindh Investment Council during the visit to Azerbaijan.
Sindh is one of the four provinces of Pakistan with 40 million people. It ranks second in the country's economy after Punjab.
