Turkey’s industrial production index ups by 4.4 per cent

The industrial production index (IPI) in Turkey increased by 4.4 per cent in February 2012 compared to February 2011, to hit 141.2 points, the Turkish Statistics Institute's report said on Monday. Compared to the previous month, the IPI increased by 0.7 per cent.

In February 2012, the IPI mining operations in Turkey increased by 6.9 per cent, manufacturing by 3.2 per cent and the area of electricity and gas production and distribution by 12.5 per cent.
The highest growth of the index was observed in the energy sector. In February 2012 it grew by 12.5 per cent compared to the same period of 2011.
