Ashgabat, Berlin consider mutual support during global crisis

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received deputy Federal Minister of Economics and Technology of Germany Karl-Ernst Brauner, a national TV channel Altin Asir said on Friday.
'The mutual support and focus on the intensification of fruitful co-operation is the best way to counter the global financial and economic crises', a statement said.
A delegation from Germany arrived in Ashgabat to participate at a regular meeting of the joint Turkmen-German working group. Trade and the economic and energy sectors, the scope of the power industry, construction, healthcare, education, sports and tourism are among the priority areas.
"Comprehensive strengthening of constructive dialogue with Germany, including at multilateral level in the framework of major international organisations and agencies, primarily the UN and the EU, is one of the main directions of foreign policy of our country," the Turkmen leader said at the meeting.
The newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan quoted Brauner, who said "the growing interest of business circles of Germany is to establish close co-operation with Turkmen partners."
It was also noted that Germany will always fully cooperate with Turkmenistan to diversify its industries and the dynamic development of basic sectors of the national economy.
In this regard the particular topics of the discussion were the draft on the reconstruction of Turkmenbashi sea port, international airport in Ashgabat, as well as cooperation projects in health care.
