Surplus of Kazakhstan's current account increased by 1.7 times in the first quarter of 2012 compared to the same period of 2011 and amounted to $2.294 billion, the Kazakh National Bank reported on Friday.
Kazakhstan's surplus trade balance increased by 1.8 times in the reporting period to $12.295 billion.
Meanwhile, the balance of services had a deficit of $1.662 billion in January-March 2012 (the deficit increased by 1.8 times).
Kazakhstan's capital and financial account deficit hit $2.079 billion compared to $4.042 surplus in the same period of 2011.
