Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has received Petrofac President Ayman Asfari. He informed the Turkmen president about the work done within the joint project for the industrial development of the Galkynysh gas field, the national TV channel Turkmenistan said on Wednesday.
During the meeting they discussed the current state and prospects of increasing fruitful cooperation.
According to the information, special attention during the meeting was paid to such important aspect as safety.
Asfari said his company intends to continue strictly adhering to all the conditions of the contract signed with the Turkmen side strictly complying with all its partnership obligations.
Petrofac was instructed to design and to construct a complex purifying commercial gas from sulfur with an annual capacity of 10 billion cubic meters.
"Turkmenistan has huge potential of proven and probable reserves of hydrocarbon resources," the president said.
Taking into account Turkmenistan's plans, priorities in the country's oil and gas complex are to search and explore new oil and gas deposits and accelerated industrial development.
