The business activity index of the Uzbek industrial sector, calculated by the Antimonopoly Policy Improvement Center under the State Antimonopoly Committee of the Republic, increased by 0.3 points to 64.9 points in August 2012 compared to July, the Committee's website reported on Tuesday.
It was previously reported that the rate forecast as of August was 71.1 points.
According to Antimonopoly Policy Improvement Center, growth of index at six points was observed in energy complex, chemical, petrochemical and metallurgical industries, at one point - in agriculture and water resources, in the production of consumer goods, as well as in health care and information technology.
According to the analysts of the center, forecast growth index for September 2012 is 67.2 points. This stipulates moderate optimistic expectations of businessmen.
The index of business activity of the industrial sector is calculated on the basis of survey of 100 large and medium-sized industrial enterprises.
The index is calculated on the basis of five key indices, such as new orders, production and sales, employment and the remains of the finished products.
