Deputy Chairman of "Turkmenpagta" (Turkmencotton) State Concern Ashyrmyrat Cherkezov is dismissed for the shortcomings in professional performance, Turkmen government informed on Tuesday.
The corresponding decree was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who previously discussed the course of seasonal agricultural work laying the basis for next year's harvest at the government meeting, including preparations for the spring sowing of cotton,.
Nearly 1.2 million tons of raw cotton was harvested this year. These volumes actively contribute to development of textile industry. According to the national program till 2020, each of the country's cotton planting area will be provided with its own refining capacity.
Ashgabat recently hosted an international exhibition-fair of cotton products of Turkmenistan, in framework of which the meetings on long-term cooperation with international organizations and companies, end-users of cotton fiber and cotton production, were held.
More than 10 varieties of cotton varieties known for high yield and fiber quality are cultivated in Turkmenistan. They are allocated in consideration with soil and climatic conditions of each region.
