The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan does not correspond to the level of economic relations between the two countries.

This was stated by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev.

"The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan is very low. The figure of $300 million does not correspond to the level of our relationship, thus, we are striving to establish contacts between more and more companies and are encouraging more investments. We want to give impetus to the development of business contacts, especially from the Caspian Sea region," the Vice-Premier said.

Businessmen, he said, form connections at their level. However, it is necessary to organize these business contacts at the governmental level as well as to raise them to a higher level.

"Today, political relations are at a very high level, that is, everything has been done to foster developed business relationships; the government's task is to create conditions for strengthening these relations," Sagintayev said.
