Azerbaijan is going to create logistic centres in Kazakhstan, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan Niyazi Safarov said at the Azerbaijani-Kazakh business forum in Baku on Wednesday.

According to him, the president set a task of expanding foreign economic relations and for this purpose Azerbaijan is using a variety of functional means.

According to Safarov, these include the creation of logistic centres in foreign countries, including Kazakhstan which will promote further activation of relations between the countries.

"Today, more than 30 companies with Kazakh capital operate in Azerbaijan. Our businessmen also demonstrate an increased interest in Kazakhstan. Economic links that have been created during the past 20 years of independence allow us say that there is a large and untapped potential for further enhancement and deepening of our economic and trade relations," he said.

According to him, today Azerbaijan has economic and trade relations with over 150 countries and relations with Kazakhstan is among the priorities for the country.
"Today, the main priority for Azerbaijan is the development of the non-oil sector which is currently dynamically developing. In particular there is a development in the agricultural sector and the implementation of policy on ensuring food security of our country. Our countries need to use the potential in order to develop foreign economic relations, including those in the non-oil sector," Safarov said.

According to him, Azerbaijan strongly intends to develop its relations with Kazakhstan and is aimed at implementing concrete measures in this direction.

"In this regard, we have found the necessary support from Kazakhstan. Now we should make efforts and determine the priorities for their implementation," Safarov said.
