Georgia’s foreign trade turnover grows by over 15 percent

Georgia's foreign trade turnover stood at $5.448 billion in January-June 2014, which is 16 percent more than in the same period of 2013.

The country's export increased by 15 percent and totaled $1.419 billion, while its import grew by 16 percent and stood at $4.028 billion during the reporting period, Georgia's National Statistical Service (GeoStat) told Trend on July 16.

Georgia's trade deficit amounted to $2.609 billion, or 48 percent of the total volume of foreign trade turnover during the reporting period.
