Turkmen refineries increase processing of raw materials

Complex refineries of Turkmenbashi city in Turkmenistan processed more than 4 million metric tons of raw materials for the period from January to August 2014, stated the report of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan Sept.17.

The report notes that the volume of processing of raw materials at the plant increased by 104,000 metric tons compared to the same period last year.

"Work on production of gasoline, diesel fuel, white oil, polypropylene are powering ahead on this modern enterprise," the report said.

Earlier it was reported that up to a quarter of the industrial products manufactured in Turkmenistan accounts for the share of oil-refining factories in the city of Turkmenbashi.

In recent years, more than $1.6 billion was invested in oil refining in Turkmenistan, dozens of cutting-edge plants of catalytic reforming and millisecond catalytic cracking process for the production of high-octane gasoline, lubricants, polypropylene, installations for the hydrotreatment of diesel fuel, as well as infrastructure objects were constructed.

Complex oil refinery in Turkmenbashi at this stage produces unleaded gasoline, aviation and technical kerosene, jet fuel and diesel fuel, fuel oil, lubricating oil, polypropylene, heating oil, light gas oil, petroleum electrode coke, liquefied gas, construction and road bitumen, synthetic detergents means.

All of the above mentioned petrochemical products are among the main components of the export potential of Turkmenistan.
