St.-Petersburg to host CIS Youth Inter-Parliamentary Forum

The CIS First Youth Inter-Parliamentary Forum will be held in St. Petersburg on October 23-25, the CIS Executive Committee website says.
The event was established by the Council of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on the initiative of the Assembly. The purpose of the forum is to develop the international youth cooperation in the parliamentarism and to promote political and civic activity of young people.
Among the participants are youth delegations, consisting of various MPs, representatives of youth policy management bodies, representatives of youth movements and public organizations, youth advisory representative bodies created under the public authoritative bodies, young scholars, representatives of education and culture of the CIS countries.
The forum program includes plenary sessions, round tables and workshops on relevant youth issues. It is planned to discuss the priorities of international cooperation in the field of youth policy, legislative activity affecting the rights and interests of young people, education and leisure-time activity, development and support of youth initiatives, international experience of youth participation in public administration and self-governance.
The organizers of the forum are the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, the Federal Agency for CIS Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation and the CIS Youth Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.
