Sri Lankan businessmen are interested in establishing joint ventures with their Azerbaijani colleagues, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy and Industry's website said Oct. 30.

Sri Lankan businessmen offer cooperating in the field of export and import of various kinds of goods and products, investments and establishing joint ventures, the report says.

In particular, the cooperation in the field of agriculture, industrial production, metallurgy, logistics and human resources is also offered.

The cooperation issues in the energy, economic, tourist, commercial areas, as well as investments were discussed at a meeting of the foreign ministers of the two countries in 2013.

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Sri Lanka amounted to $11.4 million in January-September 2014, which is 7.5 percent less compared to the same period of last year. The entire amount accounted for Sri Lanka's imports, the State Customs Committee said.
